I’m Nick, a writer and creative director with over 15 years of experience making work and building teams for companies like Apple, Expedia, Marvel, Netflix, and Ally Bank.

My superpowers: building and mentoring teams, staying 15 minutes ahead of the cultural curve, and finding ingenious ways to use media to drive business results. And of course, writing.

Most recently I helped build the in-house agency at Expedia Group as an ECD overseeing Vrbo and Hotels.com. Before that, I was in-house at Apple working on Apple Card, Apple Pay, and the Apple Gift Card. And prior to that, I worked at entertainment agencies and built campaigns for some of the industry’s biggest names.

I’m also an acclaimed fiction writer. The New York Times called my novel The Vast Fields of Ordinary (Dial/Penguin) "the best kind of first novel” and named it both a Notable Book of the Year and an Editor’s Choice.

But there’s more to life than writing. I’m also quite the chef (ask me about my pork pozole), a gym rat (ask me what I squat), an avid vinyl collector (ask me about my Zamrock collection), and a loving plant daddy (ask me about my Song of India).
